Open Question: I love my husband, but I don’t feel secure at all, what do I do?
This might seem like a loaded question, well it is I suppose.

I love my husband dearly. Before we got married I was clear on what I wanted out of the relationship. From the beginning I’ve always insisted that money isn’t be all and end all, but I would like him to handle the finances and take care of that end of the relationship while I took care of the home. I was happy to participate in budgeting, in penny-pinching, in being frugal to get us by and make better use of his hard earned money.

I’m now staying at home, ready to give birth to our first child and I feel like despite every effort I’ve made like working well into pregnancy, clipping every coupon known to man, shopping at walmart if I need a new shirt and never asking for anything that wasn’t necessary – we’re still on the brink of financial ruin.

I know he works hard but I feel like he makes no effort to help budget. He’ll come home with a garden hose attachement that he spent 20 bucks on after I made every concession to save a whole 2.00 and not go out once in a two week span…not even for coffee.

I’ve tried talking to him, and it seems like we get somewhere only to have his resolve fizzle. It’s gotten to the point now where I’m pretty much trying to keep tabs on the bills and handle things and speak to the people who call…which is not what I want to deal with while 35 weeks pregnant. If it was just him and I, it wouldn’t bother me as much. But I can’t deal with the fact that I’m about to have a baby and we have all of 90 bucks in the account and we have no diapers, we barely have food.

He’s really a good man, he just doesn’t seem to be motivated to make any money. He’s been at the same 30,000 salary for the last 5 years even though our expenses have increased.

I’ve been struggling to be patient with him. I’m totally happy being a poor man’s wife but I just want a sense of security. I want to know that at the end the day if my baby needs medicine that I can give it to her. I don’t want diamonds or designer purses, I want groceries in the cupboard and the bills paid before people start calling.

I’ve tried everything with him. I’ve asked him to work more hours, to get a part-time job for a few months, to consider a paper route on the weekends so that we can get the extras that the baby needs and he doesn’t even blink twice. He’s okay with scraping by and insists we’ll be fine but I can’t relax when I know we’re not.

What do I do, I love this man dearly but I feel so strongly that he’s not holding up his end of the deal.

Open Question: Illegals, why not get them out of the US?
14 million dollars every month to pay illegals to stay in our country and not work. That’s just unemployment to illegals. Medical, food stamps, housing. What about the insane amount that is paid out to house illegal criminals.
So my question is,” Would deporting illegals help out with the economy?”
Save billions of dollars every month, and also open up jobs for the american people.
Knowing that this would help out our country in such a big way, why is this just being over looked.
Why are they still aloud to stay over here, work, and then send the money back home.
If a american went to another country to find work and send the money back here it would not be aloud. It would be stopped.
But not in the USA.
So why not get them out of here?

Open Question: Should I save this money or pay off debt?
Hello. About a year ago, right after we got married my wife received a life insurance policy from the death of her grandmother in the amount of $40,000. Being newlyweds we put some toward the down payment of a house, paid off the car, did some improvements to the house, and put $10,000 into a CD. A year later the CD is about to mature and I am torn with what to do with the money. We are very excited that we are expecting our first child so I don’t know whether to save the money or pay off debt so we have as little as possible once the baby is born. Any suggestions? If we should pay off debt- do I pay off the credit card (has 0% for 12 months) or student loans which have a lower APR but at least for the next 12 months the CC is lower.
