Open Question: my girl got laid off: should she return?
so my gf used to work for NASA for 3-5 years, and then she got laid off. she’s going back to grad school (funded by the same agency that laid her off in the same work), but she’s not 100% sure (not like before) if she should go back. maybe this is God telling her to do something else? or just giving her a challenge in life? i’ve been laid off before, but the financial sector is a bit different than the lifers in nasa….advice please!

Additional Details
well, her PhD program (I think, somewhat oblivious) is paid for (research funds). she’s thinking of either A) returning full-time in the fuutre or B) returning as an intern.
why or why not? whenever i bring up the subject (like the Moon Landing anniversary), she gets this fire in her eyes, but when we talk about it, she seems confused. her graduate degree (ironically) is in aero engineering, but she’s iffy if she should go back tot he same center (los angeles), different center (houston), or none all together!
HAHA – you’re right about the internship; you get paid but not that much. then again (as the finance analyst here), i don’t think she goes to NASA for the money. (if i’m reading her right), the internship would be more of a…”hey, i’m not giving up and i’m still here” thing.
