Resolved Question: Do you blame Clintons’ repeal of the ‘Glass Steagall Act of 1933′ for our economic woes?
This Act had initially separated commercial from investment banking to eliminate conflicts of interest and to reduce speculative trading in certain markets, including real estate.

If this Act had not been repealed (because investing in housing would not have been possible), many of the problems we are facing now would not even exist.

Banks would not have been allowed to bundle people’s mortgages into ‘mortgage backed securities’ and thus the collapse of the sub-prime market would not have had such an affect on the banking industry.

Thoughts?
It might have still happened, but Clinton opened the gate for it to happen.

Voting Question: How does one go from owning no real estate to possible owning a 10 million dollar office building?
I am young single and interested in investing in real estate, I have a bit of savings and will be making 55,000 a year, and i start next month. I am curious how someone goes from owning one or a few small rental properties to breaking into larger commercial properties. Should i buy every good deal i can afford, is the secret to real estate investing buying on margin such as working with the bank and loaning money, to raise a lot of capital??? any insight is appreciated thank you.
